Ferry routes to Belgium
There is no direct ferry to Belgium any more, so every route here lands you in northern France or the Netherlands – a short drive from the Belgian border. These are the crossings we recommend, whether you want the quickest hop across the Channel or a restful overnight sailing. We have travelled nearly all of them ourselves.
Via France
The short Channel crossings. You land in northern France, with the Belgian border under an hour from Calais or Dunkirk.
Via the Netherlands
The overnight North Sea crossings. You land near Rotterdam or Amsterdam, with Antwerp and the rest of Belgium a short drive on.
